SB3 Development 02

I played a part in developing the brand identity for the project which included the colour palette, typeface and general aesthetic however after the initial idea stage my role in the group was mainly focused on developing the signage for the exhibition, this included way-finding and extra information inside the exhibition. The idea for the way finding is we would make sandwich boards down in the wood workshop and place the way finding around the exterior and interior of the library.

Above are the early development stages for the way-finding system. The idea is that they will be printed as posters and displayed in sandwich boards that will be made in the wood work shop in college. The ‘least’ and ‘most’ idea is that the event screen prints will be in order of what there is most of as some students will have designs for the same event. Based from this, those events are seen as important as a few people have chosen them.

Above you can see the red stripes fully across the design, however this changes in the later figures after some critique feedback that they should be in line with the branded logo and be short with white space at either size. I had difficulty sourcing the specific font chosen for the brand guidelines so used a similar one however closer to the presentation I acquired the typeface to match the rest of the branding.

The image below would be placed around the outside of the library as well as inside with the arrow pointing towards the entrance of room 700.

The design below would be printed on acetate and placed around the exhibition and below some of the prints to make the viewers aware of the concept developed for the branding. This lets the people who visit feel involved in the exhibition and create an interactive experience. This paired with the Snapchat geo filter and twitter/instagram hash-tags also makes more people aware of the exhibition and attracts a wider audience via social media. There would be sets of red post it notes around the room for people to stick next to their favourite/ most important prints.

The images below would be placed appropriately on walls around the room in correlation to the work order.
