For this brief I will be collaborating with Hannah Thomas (Level 5 Graphic Design) and Eva Halpin (Level 5 Fashion Photography) on creating a look book to showcase Eva's photography from London Fashion Week. All of the photography will come from Eva and myself and Hannah will be designing the layout, providing illustrations and producing the look book.
Eva - "A Fashion photographer and filmmaker specialising in the creative and experimental approaches in which I explore through fashion, music and story telling. Through innovation, collaboration and technical ability I aim to expand my knowledge and push the boundaries within this creative field."
I am excited to start this brief as I haven't collaborated this year yet, and I enjoyed working with other creatives last year and getting inspiration and input from them. It will be challenging as I am interested in the production of publications however skeptical of how talented I am when it comes to it, Hannah is going to take control of this side as it is one of her strengths and therefore I can learn from her. I am going to take the design/layout side of the design process. We will collaborate on illustrations and other ideas needed to complete the look book.
The final outcome should be a representation of the street style seen at LFW, as well as Eva's style of photography. The style will take inspiration from high fashion look books, as well as magazines such as Vogue. Although the final style is likely to be minimal, it is also essential the book contains a splash of colour and fun as the photographs clearly portray people having fun with what they choose to wear to watch the fashion shows. The splash of colour and fun can be considered in designing layout, extra pages/ colour palettes and production methods such as what bind/ colour string we choose to use.
